Keto Mozzarella cheese Sticks With Marinara Sauce
INGREDIENTS
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon thick cream
- 12 cup grated parmesan cheese and 2 cups almond flour
- 2 tablespoons coconut flour 1/4 teaspoon each of salt, pepper, and garlic powder
- Italian seasoning, 2 teaspoons
- Cut 8 ounces of mozzarella cheese into 12 sticks.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Cut the 8 oz. block of mozzarella into 12 sticks.
- Whisk two eggs with two tablespoons of heavy cream in a small bowl.
- Almond flour, coconut flour, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning should all be combined in a separate basin. The components are combined by stirring.
- The mozzarella sticks should be coated in the flour mixture after being dredged in the egg mixture.
- Add a second layer of the egg mixture, then the flour mixture. The secret is to coat each stick twice.
- Place mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper, and then freeze for at least an hour.
- Add oil to a frying pan or a small saucepan and heat over medium-high. Add the mozzarella sticks in groups of three to five sticks each. Cook for approximately 2-3 minutes, flipping once or twice.
NOTES
- EACH MOZZARELLA STICK CONTAINS 1.4 NET CARBS.
- As an alternative to a brick of mozzarella, use string cheese.
- They can be prepared by pan-frying, baking, and air-frying.
- The mozzarella sticks must be double-breaded; do not omit this step.
- Another crucial step is to freeze them before frying them. This will stop the cheese from melting through.
- Avoid raising the temperature of the oil during frying so that the cheese doesn’t burn.
- Making mozzarella sticks in advance and freezing them before cooking is possible.
