How to Start Your Journey to Lose Weight
How to Immerse Yourself in Your Weight Loss Journey
The First thing you should see when you wake up in the morning is a post-it note on your mirror with your weight loss goal and a photo of you when you were at your ideal weight or a photo of someone in your age group who has the body that you are aiming for.
Then check out the meals that you pre-planned for the day and if you are missing some ingredients add them to your shopping list or change the plan. You could say a few weight loss affirmations just to be sure that you are starting your day with success in mind.
Plant-Based Meal Plan for Weight Loss
If you haven’t already made a meal plan the night before then now is the time to decide when and what you intend to eat throughout the day.
If you haven’t already done some batch cooking perhaps you could do some today. If you are going to be too busy for that and you didn’t remember to make some chia pudding with fruit the night before (easy and fast to prepare just by adding your favorite plant-based milk to some chia seeds and frozen fruit (preferably berries) and leave them in the fridge overnight so that they will be ready to eat as soon as you hit the kitchen.
This is a delicious and nutritious start to the day – add some oat milk and a few goji berries or fresh fruit of your choice (perhaps a sliced apple banana with a sprinkle of cinnamon. In wintertime, I often substitute this with cooked oatmeal with frozen fruit.
Changing Your Mindset is One of The Keys to Losing Weight
Figure out a meal plan as soon as you wake up every morning and commit to it for the day. Salads are also easy to prepare and you can just use up whatever vegetables you have in the kitchen. You will be amazed at what tasty meals you can make with a little imagination.
You can make a quick dressing with hummus and balsamic vinegar or blueberries and balsamic vinegar blended in your liquidizer.
Don’t forget you can make delicious soups in your Vitamix and they will be ready in 5 minutes. If you have a pressure cooker you can make chili beans and serve them with a baked potato, sweet potato, brown rice, quinoa or millet.
Be Kind To Yourself
Treat yourself to a couple of pieces of dark chocolate and a small handful of nuts with your coffee. You can make delicious cappuccino with plant based milk (I prefer almond milk) with a sprinkle of cinnamon. A few times during the day sit down, relax and visualise how you will look and feel when you reach those goals.
In the evening instead of watching Netflix why not check out a few plant based chefs, tips and recipes on Youtube. These will help you to actually enjoy your new healthy lifestyle and you can find a lot of motivation there too if your will power is slipping.
